The March pattern is here!
One of my favorite scriptures (which is silly, because they're *all* my favorite) is Romans 5:8,
"But God demonstrates His own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us."
The Message puts it this way:
"Christ arrives right on time...He didn't, and doesn't, wait for us to get ready. He presented Himself for this sacrificial death when we were far too weak and rebellious to do anything to get ourselves ready.
And even if we hadn't been so weak, we wouldn't have known what to do anyway.
We can understand someone dying for a person worth dying for, and we can understand how someone good and noble could inspire us to selfless sacrifice.
But God put His love on the line for us by offering His Son in sacrificial death while we were of no use whatever to Him." -Romans 5:6-8
I think that was God's way of saying, "I believe in you".
Not in the, "I think you're so great you can do anything" way, but in the, "I see value and worth in you, you were worth dying for when there was no indication that you would return that kind of love to me." way.
So the next time you're feeling not that great about yourself...remember how valuable you are to God, the Creator of the Universe. K?
And then go work on your embroidery. :)
And listen to this song...
The Stitches:
Split Stitch- I used the Split Stitch for the cloud, bird, kite and string as well as the lettering. As before, I only used 2 strands of floss because some of the lines are so tiny. (a little french knot for the birdie eye and wing)
Scallop Stitch- On the little scallops around the kite, I thought I actually made up this stitch based on the lazy daisy, but I found a tutorial on how to do it, so clearly, I did not make it up. heh-heh
I couldn't find a video but here is the tutorial I found at Crafty Daisies. She's great!
I used a Satin Stitch to fill in some of the letters and the heart. You can find info on that stitch in the January Pattern Post
For the Kite Tails I just snipped little tiny rectangles of co-ordinating fabric.
Next I pinched them in the middle and took a couple of stitches through the fabric (where I pinched).
And finally, I attached them where the X's are on the pattern.
