Fridays will be filled with art and craft inspiration, fun freebies to download and print and sneak peeks at what's coming up on the blog and/or any other good stuff I find during the week. If you have something fun you'd like me to share on Friday Favorites just drop me an email and let me know!
If you've been reading my blog for any amount of time you know that I've always loved incorporating the Word into my art and scrapbook pages. One of the very first things I ever posted in fact (and the origin of my signature - "Grace and Peace" ) was this little scripture art:
I've also always had a colorful bible with lots of doodles and underlining, but last summer one of my favorite scrapbook artists, Shanna Noel, introduced me to the Journaling Bible and I fell in love!
The ESV Journaling Bible is a bible with 2" wide, lined margins on each side of the text.
It's so wonderful to have lots of room to doodle and play in the margin as you're reading and meditating on God's Word.
I've been experimenting with fabric and sewing in mine. On the page above I've also stamped and done some watercolor stenciling.
It's a little bit like art journaling and quiet time got married and it is *so* fun! It brings another whole dimension to my time with the Lord and I just had to share it with you because I'd love to have you join me on this adventure!
You don't have to have the journaling bible to do this. Just grab a notebook and some pens and markers or your favorite supplies and start worshiping the Lord with art!
For inspiration there's a fun facebook group (if you're on facebook). I'm a member, but rarely have to time to post, though I do try to go in and "like" everyone's beautiful pages as often as possible.
There's also a hashtag for twitter and instagram (#illustratedfaith and #journalingbible) if those are more your speed, plus you can search on Pinterest for "Journaling Bible" and find lots of beautiful work there.
If you decide to jump in with me (or if you're already bible journaling!) I'd love to see your pages wherever you have them posted. I'll be posting mine here usually, and probably on Instagram first.
Scripture Art Print
My friend Emily just posted this new art print in her shop and I think it is so stunning. Of course I love all of her work, so I'm a little biased, but you should go check out her shop for sure! (hint: she has gorgeous free printable art on her blog!)
Free Printable Proverbs
One last thing, Keren at Free Pretty Things for You has lots of free printables, but I especially loved these Proverbs 31 Tags.
I hope you enjoyed the first Friday Favorites! I'd love to hear about your favorite finds this week in the comments. I'd also like to know if you're doing bible journaling too, or if you think you might like to try it?
Have a wonderful, blessed weekend my friend.
Grace & Peace,
"Those who live in the shelter of the Most High
will find rest in the shadow of the Almighty." -Psalm 91:1
