A mini Junk Journaling book, Printable Vintage Ephemera and last chance for the Heart of Thanksgiving Goodie Bag!
This Week
It's the last week to catch up on your Heart of Thanksgiving layouts, I have a fun new project to show you and some printable Thanksgiving Ephemera for your Traveler's Notebooks and Junk Journals!
Heart of Thanksgiving - Final Week
Sisters in Christ Traveling Dori
I'm so excited to be a part of a group of instagram friends that are swapping journals over a year's time! It's called the "Sisters in Christ Traveling Dori". We've just started and I wanted to share my first layout with you.
We're each given 3 pages to work on in each journal. For the cover page, I didn't want the lines on the page so I actually cut it out and sewed my own dyed paper in.
I cut out a window and used some sequin waste as the backing for it. I typed the scripture that was on my heart for Julie on a label and a scrap of gelli printed paper and then sewed everything on with some ribbon and trim.
I backed the window page with some vellum and then layered on some confetti from Michael's using Liquitex Matte Medium.
On the back page I added a pocket made from one of my printable Color Note cards. I filled the pocket with some goodies and a note for Julie and attached a flower and some ribbon with my sewing machine.
I'm so excited about this project! I"ll be doing pages in approximately 2 journals per month for the next year, and I plan to share them all with you here!
You can also check the hashtag #SistersinChristTravelingDori on Instagram to see all the other beautiful pages! It's going to be a fun year!
Have you ever participated in a journal swap? I'd love to hear your experiences!
New Heart of Thanksgiving Vintage Ephemera
Mushroom card from my kit here and super cute layered leaf stamp from Studio Calico here.
My final release for this year's "Heart of Thanksgiving" collection is a set of vintage ephemera pieces and journal cards.
Designed to coordinate with the "Heart of Thanksgiving" Traveler's Notebook collection, these embellishments were created with vintage ephemera from my collection and others.
I think my favorite pieces in this kit are the thanksgiving menu scribbled on half of an envelope and the little sketch of a mid-century lady's thanksgiving table.
I found these at an estate sale in an old recipe box that looked to be from the mid-sixties (note the jello fruit mold as the dessert on the menu).
I don't know why, but I just love that moms were scribbling their Thanksgiving menus out on scraps of paper back then just like I do today (I also love that sketch of her table with the little candlesticks).
This set includes 5 printable pdfs with 28 pieces of ephemera including journal and index recipe cards. The cards come with scripture and blank versions for your own sentiment.
You can see a video of these items in action in my journal here!
I have loved working in my Thanksgiving journal so much! I can't wait to add photos from our preparation and Thanksgiving dinner.
Will you be journaling about your Thanksgiving?
Have a sweet and happy week!
Peace & Grace,
♥ Melissa~
